Character is the expression of our decisions that we make on a daily basis; those distinctive qualities that determine our responses. It has been said that a person's true character is evidenced by decisions made and actions carried out when he or she thinks that no one is looking.
Character sets the course of direction in lives. The Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition believes that character can be changed, but that it takes constant examination and awareness of ourselves, and that good character is a lifetime commitment.
Each month, we highlight a specific character trait. It is our goal to make individuals and families aware of this character trait through the workforce, schools, churches, governmental and private sectors, agencies, organizations, and the media. This will help maintain continuity throughout the community.
"Sow a thought, You reap an act;
Sow an act, You reap a habit;
Sow a habit, You reap a character;
Sow a character, You reap a destiny."
Samuel Smiles (1812-1904)
Scottish Author, reformer
